Hyde Park's October permit value hit $286 million, up from $5.4 million the month before—a jump driven by large-scale construction filings. The neighborhood logged 22 permits, down from 36 in September. Fourteen came through the express program, four covered renovations, and two were for new construction. No new businesses opened and no existing ones closed. The month was otherwise quiet.

Contractors pulled 25 permits in October, six fewer than September, but the total value hit $3.4 million—up 70 percent. Thirteen were express permits, the fastest approval track. Service requests dropped by a quarter to 430, led by building violations (38) and streetlight complaints (32). Crime ticked up 11 percent to 219 incidents, with violent offenses rising from 34 to 46. No new business licenses came through. Food inspection failures fell sharply, from seven to two.
