Hermosa permit value jumps to $2.4 million
Hermosa's construction permit value shot up to $2.4 million in August, a fourteen-fold increase from July's $164k. The neighborhood logged 15 permits, up from six the month before. Eleven were filed through the city's express program. One new-construction permit and a pair of renovation permits rounded out the rest. No new businesses opened and service requests flatlined at zero.

Hermosa permit value doubles on $766k in work
Permit value in Hermosa more than doubled in August, hitting $766k versus $341k the month prior, even as the number of permits dropped from 15 to 12. Ten of the twelve were express permits. Service requests ticked down slightly to 643, with rodent baiting (103 calls) and graffiti removal (86) leading the list. Crime reports rose from 94 to 98, including 35 violent incidents. No new businesses opened or closed, and no food establishments failed inspections.
