Hegewisch fielded 260 service requests in February, up 69% from January, with 49 calls about dead streetlights leading the list. Potholes (25) and garbage-cart issues (19) also ranked high. Permit count fell from seven to three, but dollar value jumped to $204k. Five businesses opened, including Taqueria El Taquin (retail food and on-premise consumption) and P.R Salon. Crime rose to 72 incidents from 45; violent offenses dipped by one to 17.
