Garfield Ridge issued 40 permits in August, up 43% from July, though total dollar value dipped 7% to just under $1 million. Thirty-six were express permits—the city's fast-track program for smaller jobs. No new businesses opened and none closed. Crime fell 15% overall, but violent incidents ticked up 10% to 56. Residents filed 197 rodent complaints, the most common 311 request, followed by 190 tree-trim calls and 185 graffiti reports. No food establishments failed inspection, compared to two in July.

Garfield Ridge logged 42 permits worth $2.7 million in August, up from $1.1 million the month before. Most of that activity came through the express permit program, which accounted for 33 of the 42 permits. The neighborhood also saw five new construction permits. No new business licenses or closures showed up in city records for the month.
