East Side logged $409,252 in permits this January, up 24% from December on the same number of applications—14 in both months. Thirteen were express permits; one was a renovation. Service requests ticked up 22% to 549, led by 111 tree-trim filings (a category the city no longer accepts) and 74 streetlight complaints. Violent crime fell 12.5% to 28 incidents. Three food establishments failed inspections, compared to none the month prior. No new businesses or closures were recorded.

East Side permit value nearly triples to $429k
Six permits pulled in January totaled $429,000, nearly triple the prior month despite three fewer filings. Five went through the express program. East Side picked up six new businesses, including Uncle Paws Grooming Salon and Don Beto Transmissions 2. Aldi's #26 registered for both retail food and package goods licenses. Service requests rose 11 percent to 468, led by snow-related dibs removal complaints (48) and abandoned vehicle calls (41). Crime dropped 13 percent overall, with violent offenses down 27 percent to 24.
