Dunning permit count jumps 73% on half-million total
Dunning logged 26 permits in May, up from 15 the month before. Most were express permits (17), followed by six renovation jobs. Despite the uptick in activity, total permit value dropped sharply to about $508k from $4.5 million in April. No new businesses opened and no service requests were filed.

Dunning permit value drops 83% despite more filings
Dunning issued 40 permits in May, up 38% from April, but their total value fell 83% to $1.5 million. Most permits—32 of them—came through the express program. A dozen new businesses opened, including Friends Hypermarket and Wonderland Child Care Center #3. Service requests jumped 24%, led by 148 tree emergencies. Violent crime rose 63%, from 24 incidents to 39. Food inspection failures hit 13, up from one the month before.
