Clearing permits triple but dollar value drops 69%
Clearing issued 22 permits in March, up from 6 the month before, but total construction value fell to $510k from $1.7 million—a 69% drop. Twenty-one of those permits came through the express program. Violent crime jumped 41%, from 17 incidents to 24. Potholes led the 311 load with 69 complaints, followed by 52 rat calls and 50 abandoned vehicle reports. Two food establishments failed inspection, double February's count. No new businesses opened or closed.

Clearing permit value hits $3M on big project
Clearing logged $3 million in permit value in March, up from $188k the month before—a 1,505% jump likely driven by one or two large projects. The neighborhood issued 14 permits, 11 through the express program. Fifteen new businesses opened, including three separate BP licenses (tobacco, filling station, retail food), RNB Truck Center for motor vehicle work, and Eyebrows Threading and Spa 2. Service requests rose 10% to 805, led by 151 tree trim requests and 110 pothole complaints. Violent crime edged up from 13 to 16 incidents; overall crime fell slightly to 65. One food establishment failed inspection.
