Clearing permit value drops 79% to $135k
Clearing's construction activity fell sharply in September. Thirteen permits were issued, down from 23 the month before, and their combined value dropped from $639k to $135k. Twelve of the thirteen were express permits—fast-track approvals for smaller jobs. One elevator permit rounded out the list. No new businesses opened, no 311 requests were logged, and the month was otherwise uneventful.

Clearing 311 calls drop 41%, rodent baiting leads
Service requests in Clearing fell by 41% in September, down to 664 from 1,136 the month before. Rodent baiting complaints accounted for 121 of those calls, still the top category. Permits dropped too—14 issued versus 17 in August—with total construction value sliding from $433k to $267k. Nearly all permits (13 of 14) came through the city's express program. Violent crime ticked up 25%, from 28 incidents to 35, while overall crime rose slightly to 97 cases. No new businesses opened and none closed.
