Chatham permit value doubles to $412k on fewer jobs
Chatham pulled 18 permits in December, down from 25 the month before, but their total value more than doubled to $412,000. A dozen were express permits, the rest mostly renovations. Residents filed 755 service requests, up slightly, led by 73 calls for tree trimming (a category the city no longer accepts). Garbage cart fixes and building violations rounded out the top complaints. Crime dropped 4% to 406 incidents, with violent offenses down slightly to 150. No new businesses opened or closed.

Chatham permit value drops by half to $300k
Chatham pulled 23 permits in December, down from 28 the month before. Total value fell 52% to roughly $300,000. Seventeen of the permits came through the city's express program. Three were for renovation or alteration work. No new businesses registered and no old ones closed.
