Chatham permits drop 35% despite stable construction value
Chatham logged 24 permits in September, down from 37 the month before—a 35% slide. But the total value held fairly steady at $746k, just 6% off August's $794k. The neighborhood logged 1,081 service requests, down 47% — garbage cart maintenance led the way with 83 calls, followed by 76 for tree debris. Violent crime ticked up 13% to 160 incidents, even as overall crime dipped 7%. No new business licenses or closures showed up in the data.
