Bridgeport issued 29 permits in March, more than double February's 14, with total value climbing from $493k to $2.1 million. Fifteen were express permits, the fastest-track option. No new business licenses appeared. Service requests rose 16% to 1,035, led by graffiti removal (149 calls) and tree trim requests (130). Crime ticked up 31% to 124 incidents, including 38 violent offenses—a 41% increase. Two food establishments failed inspection, down from four the month prior.

Bridgeport 311 calls jump 44%, graffiti leads
Service requests spiked to 1,354 in March, up from 939 the month prior. Graffiti removal topped the list with 223 calls, followed by tree trims (163) and potholes (145). Permits dropped by half to 13, though the $1.18 million in value included two new construction projects. New businesses included Meze Table Market and Frunchroom Cycles. Violent crime ticked up to 34 incidents from 25, while overall crime dipped slightly to 107.
