Armour Square pulls 13 permits worth $1.4 million
Armour Square issued 13 permits in February, up from 10 the month before, with a total value of $1.4 million. Half the permits were for signs. Three went to renovation work, and two came through the express program. One new construction permit and one for elevator equipment rounded out the month. No new businesses opened, none closed, and service requests stayed at zero.

Armour Square fields 103 graffiti requests
Armour Square logged 103 graffiti removal requests in February, the top 311 category by a wide margin. Service requests overall jumped 45%. Permits fell to five—down from 11—and their combined value dropped from $18.3 million to $140k. Twenty-one new businesses got licenses, including Chubby Skewer, a retail food shop, and ChiSox Bar & Grill, which picked up a liquor license and an outdoor patio permit. Violent crime more than doubled, rising from 12 incidents to 30.
