Armour Square permit count drops 61% in August
Armour Square issued just nine permits in August, down from 23 the month before. The value of those permits also fell, from $1.2 million to $773k. Seven were express permits; one was for new construction. No new businesses opened or closed. Service requests climbed 8% to 475, led by 109 graffiti removal calls and 97 tree trim requests. Crime ticked up 18% to 105 incidents, with violent offenses rising from 33 to 39. Eight food establishments failed inspections, up from six in July.

Armour Square crime up 27% in August
Reported crime in Armour Square hit 121 incidents in August, up from 95 the month before. Violent offenses rose slightly to 31. Permit count increased to 11 from 7, but their combined value fell 55% to $284k—six came through the express program. Residents filed 459 service requests, down 5% from July. Graffiti removal led the list with 63 calls, followed by 59 tree trim requests and 49 streetlight complaints. No businesses opened or closed.
